Our mission

A proven recycling pathway for clean cooking in Africa

Kyuka Ventures converts end-of-life plastic into clean cooking fuel that replaces charcoal, firewood and kerosene, diverting waste from landfills and open burning while making clean energy affordable for low income households.

The problem

A twin crisis: dirty cooking & plastic pollution

2.4B

people globally still cook with polluting fuels like charcoal, firewood and kerosene.

600K+

tonnes of plastic waste are generated in Uganda each year, most of it burned, dumped or landfilled.

4M

premature deaths every year are linked to household air pollution from dirty cooking fuels.

<5%

of plastic waste in sub Saharan Africa is recycled. The rest pollutes our air, soil and waterways.

Our technology & process

From plastic waste to clean cooking fuel

Using our SFRET process, Soot-Free Reactive Extraction Technology, non-recyclable plastics are heated without oxygen to form hydrocarbon vapours, then condensed into clean cooking fuel. AI optimises sorting, process control and distribution.

Closing the loop

A circular economy for plastic, energy and livelihoods

By recycling previously unrecyclable plastic, we cut open burning and indoor air pollution, and create dignified income for women, youth and informal waste collectors across our community hubs.
